Nova Scotia Burn Information - Check before you burn!

Wildfire season is March 15 until October 15. During this time, it is YOUR responsibility to check the burn restrictions map. There is NEVER any burning from 8 am – 2 pm and the new daily restrictions are posted at 2 pm. But wait a few minutes past as it may take a little bit to populate correctly.

The Fire Service Association of Nova Scotia is dedicated to provide leadership and representation to the fire service, government, private sector and citizens of Nova Scotia by developing, evaluating and communicating policy and programs through consultation, research and education in the matters of fire and public safety.

Office of the Fire Marshall

The Office of the Fire Marshal is responsible for fire and building safety. The office develops policies, regulations and programs to promote and enforce the principles and practices of fire safety. We also provide advice on all initiatives and issues concerning building and fire safety.

MODL

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is the third largest rural municipality in Nova Scotia in terms of total property assessment and encompasses a geographic area representing over 432,000 acres. Our municipality surrounds the towns of Bridgewater, Lunenburg, and Mahone Bay, which are incorporated separately and not part of the district municipality.
