Recruitment with the Pleasantville & District Fire Department
Serving the Pleasantville community with dedication, we ensure safety, education, and volunteer opportunities.
Current Requirements
Nova Scotia Class 3 Drivers – are always in need in most departments. We are no exception. If you’d like to help us, and have no desire to kick doors down and run into burning buildings, getting a tanker or an engine and our members safely to the scene is just as important. We are pretty confident that once you get involved you’ll want to explore other opportunities in our department. Let’s start the process now…
Firefighters – most rural fire departments in Canada are on the look-out for those special type of people. The kind that can leave the dinner table for a call to assist someone else on their worse day. A person, a couple, who like to do positive things, belong to something great and meet new people. The benefits are endless, and unless you stop by and see, or ask, there is no way possible to describe the great feeling you get… join us, we’re ready, are you? We will make sure you have all the proper PPE and training. See you Tuesday night!
Radio Room ops – Great communication and accountability are VERY important in the fire service. Someone keen to help in our radio room is vital in achieving this. We do have some operators presently, but like every volunteer job in our department, they cannot make it 100% of the time. If you’re a retired person looking to contribute and want to give back, consider assisting us in this role, you’ll be sure to find some great people here. No prior experience required.
