Our District and Community Page
Welcome to the Pleasantville and District Fire Department! Our team is dedicated to community well-being and safety. Together, we engage in active outreach, recruit passionate volunteers, and offer essential safety education. Discover how you can contribute to our mission of support and growth within the community.
Community Work
Our department, along with our mutual aid partners, Lahave and Conquerall Bank, visit our local school, Pentz Elementary, each October during Fire Prevention Week. We all welcome the time spent with the students, allowing them to see our trucks, try on gear and most important, understand the role of firefighters and create awareness. Do you remember these visits from your childhood?
Roadside Cleanup
Our community is beautiful and we like to keep it that way. Our members and friends do not like littering, so we like to do our part in keeping it clean for all to enjoy. If you want to help us, let us know…
District Map
The yellow box represents an approximate outline of our coverage area. Exact boundaries vary. The yellow marking is our station, located on Route 331, the red markings are our dry hydrant locations nearby to use as a quick water source. Two on the left side are directly in our district on the New Cumberland Road, the other 2, are maintained by LaHave & District Fire Department and all mutual aid partners are able to use. Along with Conquerall Bank Fire Department and Lahave, we have a long standing mutual aid agreement to support our entire westside area in times of need.

Dry Hydrants
For those in rural areas without access to a pressurized fire hydrant system, dry hydrants enable firefighters to draw water from reliable sources such as lakes, ponds, or streams.
Comfort Station
When a significant storm hits our area and our community is stricken with a long-term power outage, our Fire Department rev’s up the generator and we become a Comfort Centre for those looking to recharge their devices, get some warmth or pass the time with a game of cards. We will be as diligent as possible to notify you when we are powered up and open. The blue signs posted on our hall will have a green OPEN sign, as well as our Facebook page will be posting notifications. Always be careful and fire smart in any outage. Never leave candles unattended or run a generator inside. In the case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.

Burn Map
Wildfire season is March 15 until October 15. During this time, it is YOUR responsibility to check the burn restrictions map. There is NEVER any burning from 8 am – 2 pm and the new daily restrictions are posted at 2 pm. But wait a few minutes past as it may take a little bit to populate correctly.
